Report received from 166 Chittagong. A/C landed Double Moorings with engine trouble at 20.00 hrs. on outward journey. Starboard outer engine cut, caught fire; then extinguished. Bombs dropped in one short stick just south of target, six bursts seen and two groups of fires (blueish nature) started all wouth of target, fire appeared to gain hold. A/c was last of squadron to bomb. Two subsidiary fires target area run up, on of which died out. Aircraft found difficulty in maintaining height after bombing and continued for Chittagong. |
